ROUTES

baja divide , bikepacking baja bikepacking

Baja is not only about the Divide but also about many others shorter incredible trips that go from a simple overnighter to multi-days journeys. Discover our constantly growing map of routes here ( Please remember that rain can completely change the conditions of roads. We try to give the most updated versions of the routes by staying in contact with locals ranchers who report us constantly the latest conditions but many times it is hard even for us to find out quick if things have changed in very remote areas. So please make sure you always ask informations to the ranchers along the way about how the following sections of a route are especially if there have been serious precipitations in the past summer. The Mexican Government takes care of remote communities and always sends a military team out with a bulldozer to fix the ranch roads after a heavy rain season but unfortunately the road fixing teams are normally only one or two in a very big area, sometimes in all Baja, and can take long time to plow every main way across the Sierra and each individual ranch access. It is very important that you are in a good physical trained condition anytime you venture with your bike in Baja because roads can be much harder than what other cyclists have reported. Do not make it a matter of proud, if you feel that heading back or hitching a ride on a pick-up is better, that means it is probably a smart lifesaver decision. Always check and ask for updates on routes AFTER a rain – this is also the reason why we don’t include WAYPOINTS in our gpx files due to their unreliablility especially regarding water, ranches and road conditions markers ):
